Makar Sankranti marks the end of winter and the arrival of spring. People celebrate the occasion by flying kites and preparing sweets with sesame and jaggery.
We celebrated Makar Sankranti in our school. Teachers explained to the students the significance of the celebration.
Kites are flown during Sankranti so that people are exposed to sunlight, but nowadays, the flying of kites is limited due to the danger that it poses to birds.
Our students decorated kites and displayed it in the school premises, propagating festive joy and cheer.
Happy Makar Sankranti to all!
