Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated 20 days post Dussehra.
It is celebrated to welcome Ram, Sita and Lakshman to Ayodhya after defeating Ravan at Lanka.
It is celebrated as the victory of light over darkness. Hence, though Diwali falls on an Amavasya day, the houses and streets decorated with lights erase the darkness.
Our students decorated lamps and we lighted them to celebrate Diwali in our school premises.
We also had a short skit and a dance to mark the Diwali celebration. The students dressed as Lord Ram, Seeta and Lakshman stole the show.
