15th October is observed as ‘Vachan Prerna Diwas’ or ‘Reading day’ every year.
The day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of our Late President – Dr.A.P.J.Abdul.Kalam who strongly advocated the importance of reading as a necessity and not merely a hobby.
To honour Dr. Kalam’s ideologoes and spreading awareness amongst the students, the students were shown a short clip on the Life of Dr. Kalam and his favourite quotes.
Later, there was a reading competition organised for the students of std 5th to the 10th. Four average students of every class participated in the Hindi/ English & Marathi reading competition.
This activity was done to inspire the students to be good readers.
